ONA: see unfulfilled Shopify orders grouped by product
ONA answers the question every packing bench actually asks - how many of this thing do I need to pull today - without opening a single order or exporting a report.
The problem it solves
Shopify's orders list is organised the way orders arrive: one customer at a time. That is the right shape for customer service and the wrong shape for fulfilment. When you are picking, you do not care that order #1043 needs a Medium tee and order #1051 needs another one. You care that you need seven Medium tees off the shelf, once.
Most merchants bridge that gap by exporting a CSV and pivoting it in a spreadsheet, or by walking the order list with a notepad. Both work. Both cost you fifteen minutes at the start of every fulfilment run, and both are stale the moment another order comes in.
What ONA does
ONA reads your paid, unfulfilled orders and inverts the view. Instead of a list of orders containing products, you get a list of products with the number of units waiting on them:
- A live summary of every product and variant that needs fulfilling, with unit counts, across all paid orders.
- Search or select a specific product or variant to see the unit total waiting on it right now.
- Drill into the orders behind any line, including the risk indicators attached to them, so you can see exactly which customers are waiting.
That last part matters more than it sounds. Picking by SKU is faster, but you still need to get back to the order to fulfil it, and you still want to know if one of the orders behind a line has been flagged as risky before you ship it.
Who it is for
ONA is built for merchants who fulfil in batches rather than one order at a time: apparel and accessory stores with heavy variant matrices, makers who produce to order, anyone running a pick-pack shift where someone walks the shelves once and comes back with everything. The more orders that share the same SKUs, the more time it saves.
It is a read-only view inside the Shopify admin. It does not change orders, does not mark anything fulfilled, and does not touch your storefront.

Common questions
Does ONA fulfil orders for me?
No, deliberately. It is a reporting and planning view. Fulfilment still happens in Shopify, with your existing workflow and your existing shipping apps, so there is nothing new to trust with writes to your orders.
Which orders are included?
Paid orders that still have unfulfilled items. That is the set you can actually act on, so partially fulfilled orders show only their remaining units.
Does it handle variants separately from products?
Yes. Totals roll up at the product level and break out per variant, which is the level you actually pick at.
Do I still need to export reports?
For fulfilment planning, no - that is the export ONA is designed to replace. For accounting or analytics you will still want Shopify's own reporting.
