Pit Crew: run a repair and service desk inside Shopify POS

Intake at the counter, track the job to completion, pull parts from live inventory, and take payment at pickup - without a second system that never quite reconciles with your till.

Repairs and service Shopify POS Launched 2026

The problem it solves

Shops that repair things run two businesses at once. One sells products and lives in Shopify. The other takes in customers' property, works on it over days or weeks, and lives in a paper book, a whiteboard, or a spreadsheet nobody else can read. The two never reconcile: parts get pulled off the shelf without leaving inventory, deposits get taken as cash with no order behind them, and "is my bike ready?" becomes a phone call somebody has to walk to the back to answer.

Dedicated repair software solves the tracking and creates a new problem - it does not know your inventory, so every part you fit has to be counted twice, and your revenue lives in two places at tax time.

What Pit Crew does

Pit Crew adds a Repairs tile to Shopify POS and a work board to your Shopify admin, so the repair side of the business runs on the same data as the retail side.

At intake

  • Record the customer, the item, and the problem straight from the POS tile.
  • Customise the intake fields for your trade - item type, brand, model, serial, colour - and add your own.
  • Use quick service presets so the jobs you do fifty times a month take one tap, not a form.
  • Collect a deposit as a real sale at drop-off, so the money is in Shopify with an order behind it.

On the bench

  • Assign a technician and set a ready date.
  • Move jobs through received, in progress, and ready on the admin work board.
  • Customers get automatic email updates as status changes, which removes most of the "is it done yet" calls.

At pickup

  • Add the parts you actually used from your live Shopify inventory and ring them up on the same ticket.
  • Collect the balance at POS, with the deposit already accounted for.
  • The whole job stays on the customer's repair history for next time.

Who it is for

Pit Crew is trade-agnostic by design, because the shape of a repair job is the same everywhere even when the vocabulary is not. It is in use for bike shops, jewellers, watch repair, electronics and phone repair, footwear and cobblers, tailoring and alterations, and instrument repair. If you take in a customer's item, do work on it, and hand it back for money, the workflow fits.

Multiple locations are supported, so a chain can run one work board across every bench.

Pricing

$39/month or $420/year, which saves 10%.

Includes a 14-day free trial - long enough to run real jobs from intake through pickup before deciding.

Common questions

Do parts come out of my Shopify inventory?

Yes. Parts are added from your existing inventory and rung up on the repair ticket, so stock levels and revenue are correct without a second count.

Can I take a deposit at drop-off?

Yes, as a sale at POS. That means the deposit is a real Shopify order rather than cash in an envelope, and the balance at pickup accounts for it.

Are customers notified automatically?

Yes. Status changes trigger automatic email updates, including when a repair moves to ready for pickup.

Will it fit my trade if I am not a bike shop?

That is what the customisable intake fields are for. You define what gets recorded at intake - item type, brand, model, serial, colour, plus any custom fields - so the form matches your work rather than someone else's.

Does it work across multiple locations?

Yes, multiple locations are supported.
